We have compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions in the hope that we can make your experienece of villa rental as smooth and as uncomplicated as possible. If there are any questions that are not immediately answered, do not hesitate to contact us.

What would you like to know?

Q: Are the prices quoted for the villas shown on a ‘per night; or ´per person´ basis?

A: Our rates are for the entire villa and are quoted on a per night basis, but there can be no parties, weddings or large gatherings allowed in the villas without written permission. Villas may not be occupied by more guests than specified in the rental contract. Rates are based on occupancy and additional fees may apply
Q: What are the differences between ‘High´ and ‘Low´ season rates?

A: In the Caribbean, ´High Season´ (also known as Winter and In Season) begins in mid-December and lasts until mid-April. The lower rates of ´Low Season´ (Summer or Off Season) take effect until mid-December. Your Luxury Vacations Villas contact will reconfirm this upon your inquiry, as there are a few exceptions. In Europe the opposite is true, with July and August being "peak" season
Q: Do we have to pay full rent if we book a home with more bedrooms then we need?

A: Not necessarily. Many villas can be rented at a reduced rate when you do not use all the bedrooms. This is noted on the villa rate listings on this site.
Q: Aren´t villas more expensive than a hotel?

A: Many villas often cost much less than hotels of the same quality standard. Please feel free to compare the prices of the villas that we represent with the equivalent hotel accomodation in the same locality. (Remember to compare rates per room/ per night). When you factor in all the benefits of a private villa including:

Freedom:- Come and go as you please. Wake up when you want. Eat what you want, when you want, etc. No chance of missing breakfast because you slept too late.

Privacy:- Staying in a Luxury Vacation Villa rental gives you all the privacy you need.

Cost:- Luxury Vacation Rentals work out to be a lot less expensive per person especially when it is a large group.

Service:- The staff located at the villa will cater for your exacting needs. They will include housekeepers, cooks, drivers and gardeners. Their only objective will be to ensure that your luxury vacation exceeds your expectation.

all of this will ensure that you receive a superior vacation experience but at the best possible cost

Q: Are children welcome in all the rentals.

A: There are a few homes that have restrictions. More importantly we recommend you let us make a few suggestions. Certain homes are more child-friendly than others in terms of safety and bedding considerations.
Q:  Is a villa a good idea for a honeymoon?

A: It´s a fantastic idea and great value. Villas are private and spacious and many have Hot Tubs or Jacuzzis.
Q: Do I need to bring cash? Where can I change money? Do they have ATMs?

A: Credit cards are accepted at most places where visitors frequent on Caribbean islands such as Jamaica, St Lucia, Barbados and Turks and Cacois. Anything that you buy may be paid for by major credit cards, VISA, MasterCard, and Amex.

You may need cash for paying local vendors. United States dollars (US$) and to a lesser extent British Sterling (£) are accepted everywhere. Don´t expect to get back change in US$ or £ though, so it´s best to bring small bills. There are ATMs in the major resorts and Banks for changing currency.

You may also, of course, elect to pay in the local currency

Q: Do I have to shop for the groceries and supervise the staff?

A: You may do the shopping if you wish. Some people enjoy the experience of local shopping. Some like to go to the local markets.

As far as being involved with the cooking, it´s again entirely up to you. Some guests spend a lot of time in the kitchen learning to make the local favourites. Others send the cook home early so they can do their thing. But most guests leave it all up to the cook with the minimum of instruction: "Lobster tonight, please."

Q: Is baby-sitting available?

A:  Many guests make arrangements for baby-sitting, either through us or on their own after they arrive. We discourage the practice of the regular villa staff looking after children as they have their regular responsibilities to fulfill. Trying to do both means that one or both will not be done properly.
Q:  Can I switch villas after I have made my booking?

A: Since the villas are owned by separate individuals, it is not usually possible to switch from one villa to another after your booking has been confirmed, as we contract with the owner on your behalf to reserve their villa for your exclusive use.

You may make the change but this will be considered as a cancellation of the villa that you originally booked. Please see our terms and conditions for our cancellation policy

Q: Who has my credit card details?

A: Barclaycard Business a business unit of Barclays Bank PLC.

They provide our end-to-end solution, where they handle everything for us, including responsibility for security. From the moment our customer clicks on ´pay´ or ´buy now´ until we receive the funds, transaction record and Management Information, we and our customer are in safe hands.

This gives us peace of mind - thanks to the knowledge that card payments are being handled securely and efficiently by card processing specialists.
