Dominican Republic Weddings
To get married in The Dominican Republic
Couples must file a civil marriage license application with a judge.
You´ll need your original passports and a copy of them
You´ll also need your original birth certificates
Advice For US Citizens
The following documentation must be provided in Spanish:
Notarized Single Certification for each person (must state whether the bride or groom has ever been married, divorced, or widowed).
If applicable; Divorce Certificate or Death Certificate
Other Notes:
All Spanish documents must be prepared by a Dominican Notary.
Dominican law requires that notice of the intended marriage must be published prior to the ceremony
In Dominican Law, a divorced woman must wait 10 months before remarrying (unless remarrying the same man she divorced).
2 Witnesses must be present at the ceremony.
The marriage license fee will be about US$100, (depending on the judge). |
